This is an action portrait of a female ringed map turtle, native to Louisiana. One of the most beautifully marked of the American turtles, this rare turtle is a master swimmer, thoroughly at home in the water. Completed in the Year of the Dragon, she reminds me of the mythical DragonTurtle.
