Geese on the Kankakee Marsh

The wetlands of the Midwest are some of my favorite places. Riding through the Kankakee marsh reveals many types of bird life. I observed this line of Canadian geese at its forming, and as it proceeded through the waterway others joined the parade, like a slightly tipsy conga line. I imagine their feet in the water below, performing a synchronized paddle, paddle, kick! Their sober monochromatic plumage counterpoint to the lush blue and green of the of duckweed and algae rich water.
Blue and green signal balance, refreshment and acceptance.
